Students studying Media Arts work in a broad spectrum of screen-based art, from mobile devices and Internet art to video games and motion pictures. They learn to make the screens that surround us today (movie theaters, television, the Web, mobile devices) both relevant and beautiful. They will be ready for tomorrow’s ever-changing media landscape.
Our students show their work at film festivals. As seniors, they intern with various companies. They perform motion capture for new video games on our bluescreen stage. They partner with local arts theaters and the University of South Carolina’s Moving Image Research Collections, one of the 10 largest academic film and media archives in the country.
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts is awarded to students who successfully complete the program.
