Creative Writing

Housed within the Department of English, the Creative Writing Program offers a small, intimate program backed by the resources of the larger English department. Students work closely with our nationally and internationally published writing faculty and have opportunities to study with top literary scholars, interact with visiting writers, and gain experience in both teaching and literary editing.

Graduate: M.F.A.

This is a three year program in which students have the opportunity to explore tracks in poetry and fiction. All students receive financial support. The community of writers consists of dedicated faculty and students who have come to Carolina to commit themselves to the writing and study of literature. Many of the creative writing students begin publishing during their time here.
